Still in the possession of the family for which it was built, the Palazzo Albrizzi also has one of Venice's few completely preserved interiors from the 18th century - created a century after the palazzo was built.
The palazzo stands on the Campiello Albrizzi near the Ponte delle Tette, or the Bridge of Teats. In the 16th century, prostitutes who would stand stripped to the waist in brothels' doorways, were made to live in this area. Venice, famed for its hookers, also made them register as women of the night. At one time the city had almost 12,000 registered tax-paying prostitutes.
